Job Summary
This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and empower the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood residents through outreach and education, creating and managing projects that promote partnerships and build community.

Job Title: Community Organizer
Reports to: Executive Director or Board Chair
Hours: Part-time, variable, 15-30 hours/week
Schedule: Flexible hours. Some nights and weekends required. This is a contract position, for an indefinite period of time while funding is available

Dayton’s Bluff Community Council is a neighborhood-based organization committed to improving quality of life and bringing people together in Dayton’s Bluff. Our mission is to advance equity and enhance quality of life through partnerships and community engagement.

DBCC seeks a self-motivated, outgoing Community Organizer to work closely with our staff and board of directors to conduct direct outreach, education and community development across our community. The organizer will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies based on the priorities and projects of the organization.

The role of community organizer is to help carry out the work of the council by connecting directly with people in our community and engaging our community members in campaigns to lift up our neighborhood and promote equity and quality of life in Dayton’s Bluff.

Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a community organizer with diverse communities
Outgoing personality and ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
Positive, proactive and personable team player.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Experience with social media and digital communication preferred.
Tracking of data collected required via metrics
Hourly rate of $25-$37, depending on experience.
