Livable Communities: New Projects Add Housing, Connect Land Uses

A $6.5 million investment by the Met Council will support seven cities to create development that links housing, jobs, and services, and demonstrates cost-effective use of land and infrastructure.  The completed projects will result in more than 600 housing units and 451 permanent, living wage jobs. Council Grants Help to Create and Preserve Affordable Housing Across the Region

A total of 254 new affordable rental and ownership housing units will be built, and 48 existing units will be rehabilitated and preserved, with the support of $2.5 million in Livable Communities grants. Five cities and four community land trusts will receive grants.
