The Auto Theft Prevention Board advises the Commissioner of Commerce on how to develop and sponsor statewide plans, programs and strategies to encourage cooperation between agencies to prevent auto theft. Granting funds, auditing programs, providing education, and withdrawing funds part of their statutory duties. This board can grant financial support to neighborhood, community organizations, tribal groups or business organizations to fund programs and disseminate information to assist with prevention of auto theft. Appointments to this board is for a four year term. There are meetings regarding the granting of funds (virtual capability is necessary), but those only occur generally 1X every year with some participation to prepare for those meetings.
The open seat is the public appointment which can be filled by someone from a neighborhood, community organizations, tribal groups or business organizations.
