October 20 – Job Club Online: Identifying Your Skills, Job Applications and Work Portfolios
Can you list the top five skills you can market to a potential employer? If your list doesn’t come to you easily, don’t worry. This session will help you identify what you have to offer beyond job titles and employment dates. We will also discuss applications and what to put in a portfolio (hint: it’s not just for artists!). This is the second week in a 6-part series that covers the essentials of the Creative Job Search (CJS) workshop.

Craft a resume that will get you noticed. Learn best practices for creating a resume that meets the specific requirements of a position, find out what type of resume may be best for you and identify common mistakes to avoid.

October 22 – Online Workshop: Building a Resume in MS Word 2
This is the second of three workshops dealing with how to effectively format a resume in MS Word. Some of the topics covered will be custom bullets, default and custom tabs and working with the table format. There will be time to have your questions answered and additional follow-up resources will be sent to all participants.
