Staffing update: DBCC welcomes new Interim Executive Director
The Dayton's Bluff Community Council has named board member Carrie Obry as Interim Executive Director.
Obry, a Dayton's Bluff resident since 2012, brings 14 years of nonprofit leadership experience and will step down as Treasurer to take on the role. She'll focus on rebuilding the organization's leadership foundation over the next year, working closely with the Board and community partners.

Early voting for the Aug. 11 primary
You don't have to wait until Election Day to vote in the Aug. 11 primary. In-person and absentee voting is open now for all Minnesota voters.
In-person voting: Starts June 26 at the Plato Building, 90 Plato Blvd. West, Ste 160, Saint Paul, MN 55107.
Vote by mail: Details on returning your ballot by mail or in person are on the county's site.

Visit the East Side Farmer's Market
Now you can find a variety of fresh produce, community artists, and local vendors with a hyper-local focus. Visit the pay-as-you-can East Side Farmers Market!
When: 1-4 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, through September

Visit Urban Roots at the Great Minnesota Get-Together
Find Urban Roots at The Common Table in the Agriculture Horticulture Building at the Minnesota State Fair. You can learn more about their work, enjoy some fun activities, and sign up for a giveaway!
Bee Line garden tour
Community members are invited to the Bee Line Garden Tour. This is a free, bikeable garden tour along the Pierce Butler Route (the Bee Line) and into the Como neighborhood.
When: 9-11 a.m. Saturday, July 18
Where: Along Pierce Butler Route (the Bee Line) and into the Como neighborhood, St. Paul
The tour features nine garden locations with activities including make-and-take crafts, pollinator counting, and nature observation. Refreshments will be provided by Shobi's Table and Fruci's Ice Cream. Riders, walkers, and those using mobility devices are all welcome.
The event is part of the Pollinator Pathways of Saint Paul grant programming, funded by the MN Board of Water and Soil Resources.
Earl Street construction update
Phase 1 (York Avenue to Maryland Avenue)
Traffic control is in place along Earl Street, and through traffic is detoured to Forest Street. Residents with driveways on Earl Street will be contacted directly about route options. Crews have completed tree protection, started erosion control, removed street signs, and removed a layer of asphalt.
Work the week of July 7-10: Crews resume Tuesday, July 7, after the holiday weekend. Work includes finishing erosion control, removing tree stumps, additional asphalt removal, removing lighting, and digging trenches for utility work.
All updates are posted at stpaul.gov/EarlStreet. Construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting.
Phase 2 (Minnehaha Avenue to Burns Avenue): Open house
Learn about the next phase of the Earl Street Reconstruction Project and share your priorities for this section of the street. Light refreshments and a kids' activity will be provided.
When: 5 to 7 p.m. on Wed., July 8
Where: Dayton's Bluff Recreation Center, 800 Conway St, St Paul, MN 55106
Phase 2 will fully rebuild the road, including water and sewer work, grading, curbs and gutters, drainage improvements, paving, lighting, landscaping, and sidewalk and bikeway upgrades. Learn more at stpaul.gov/EarlStreet2. Note: the same email list is used for updates on both Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Coming in August: Mark your calendars for the Tour des Jardins!
Grab your bike and get ready to pedal your way through Saint Paul's community gardens. Our partners at Mounds Park Community Garden are hosting the Tour des Jardins, a social bike ride connecting community gardens and urban farms across the city.
Part open house, part culinary adventure, and part neighborhood celebration, you won’t want to miss this fun and unique event!
When: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sat. Aug. 22
Where: Multiple community gardens across Saint Paul (routes and maps to come)
