The City will be holding a series of SAFE Housing Community Feedback Sessions for community members to learn about and provide feedback on prospective tenant protection policies in the City of Saint Paul.

As a part of “S.A.F.E. Housing Saint Paul” – an acronym that stands for stable, accessible, fair and equitable – these sessions will help inform the development of new tenant protection policies that support the City’s fair housing goals of decreasing displacement and increasing stable, accessible, fair and equitable housing opportunities for everyone. The sessions will focus on an array of policy areas including tenant rights and responsibilities information, just cause notice, advance notice of sale, security deposit limitations, and tenant screening guidelines.

This follows work by community partners to elevate the need for local leadership in helping every resident get access to housing, as well as numerous community conversations with renters, homeowners, and landlords hosted by council offices and city staff in every Ward across St Paul earlier this summer. The sessions will be hosted by the Office of Financial Empowerment and the Department of Planning and Economic Development.
