Community Build Out

Join Dayton’s Bluff Community Council and Urban Roots,  in rebuilding the urban garden site at 3rd & Maria.
Work will include building beds with compost & soil, prepping beds for planting, installing drip irrigation, planting spring crops and building fencing around garden site.
GARDEN BUILDING DAY:
April 18th 8:30am-12:00pm –AM volunteer shift (building soil beds)
12:00pm-12:30pm –On site lunch and conversation
12:30pm-3:30pm –PM volunteer shift (irrigation & clean up)
FENCE BUILDING DAY:
April 25th  8:30am-12:00pm –AM volunteer shift (fence install)
12:00pm-12:30pm –On site lunch and conversation
12:30pm-3:30pm –PM volunteer shift (fence install & clean up)
*Garden Building Day may involve using a wheelbarrow and lifting somewhat heavy compost for some participants, if you are unable to do heavy lifting then we would recommend the afternoon shift installing irrigation lines. If you have carpentry skills, that would be great for participation on Fence Building Day, however they are not required and participants interested in learning fence building can certainly join.
We will provide tools, gloves, water and lunch for participants as well of plenty of opportunity to engage with community members and youth participants at the garden site.
