Since 2008, the Dayton's Bluff Community Council, along with neighborhood partners, has conducted vacant home tours of homes in the neighborhood.

Dayton's Bluff Vacant Home Tour

April 17th, 1:00-5:00 pm

Meet at Dayton's Bluff Community Council (804 Margaret St)

Sponsored by the Dayton's Bluff Community Council, this tour of six vacant historic properties in the neighborhood is planned with the hope we can save some of our neighborhood's history from demolition.

Here's the list of addresses, which are also listed with each home in the pictures on this page.
275 Bates
216-218 Bates
208-210 Bates
737 Plum
767 East 4th Street
700 East 4th Street

These homes were slated for demolition late last year, but a group of concerned neighbors got together to fight to save them. They're being offered by the City of Saint Paul for a limited time.

On April 17, all six will be open to the public from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

To further enhance the experience, a 1954 Twin Cities Rapid Transit bus will be available for free transportation to the homes. Meet at the Dayton's Bluff Community Headquarters at 804 Margaret Street to get tour info and hop on the bus. Alternately, the tour is come and go as you please. You can use your own transportation and pick up brochures and home information at each property.

For more information about the homes, contact Joe Musolf (Principal Project Manager for the city of Saint Paul’s Planning and Economic Development) at or 651-266-6594.

Thank you to St. Paul's Inspiring Communities project for working to save old buildings from extinction. "The program funds assist developers with development gap financing for construction of new housing on vacant lots or rehabilitation of vacant structures." Please check out this site for information on the RFP process involved with securing one of these homes.

This event is part of the Minneapolis-St Paul Home Tour. The Minneapolis and Saint Paul Home Tour is an annual event that promotes city living. The tour brings thousands of home enthusiasts together for a weekend of sharing home remodeling ideas. The tour is sponsored by the Planning and Economic Development departments of both cities, local financial institutions, developers, contractors and other businesses. The home tour’s most important partners, of course, are the homeowners who volunteer to open their homes.
