For more information call Karin at 651-772-2075 or email Karin@daytonsbluff.org Dayton’s Bluff Plant Swap and Neighborhood Sale Saturday, May 17, 2008 Greening Dayton’s Bluff Plant Swap will be held on Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 a.m.–noon in the gardens outside of the Swede Hollow Café, at the corner of E. 7th St. and Bates Ave, This is the Sixth Annual Greening Dayton’s Bluff Plant Swap. If you have plants in your garden that you have too many of or do not like any longer, dig them up and bring them to the plant swap and take home something you would rather have in your garden. Be sure to label your plants. Be sure to stop by the annual Neighborhood Sale in Hamm Park East 7th and Greenbrier, one block east of the plant swap. You may also browse through any of the past issues of the Dayton's Bluff District Forum Help get rid of neighborhood problems Come to the next Dayton’s Bluff Community Meeting Thursday, June 5, 2008 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 798 East 7th Street at the corner of 7th and Margaret The Dayton’s Bluff Community Council holds its Community Meeting on the 1st Thursday of each month. The purpose is to work with block clubs and neighborhood residents on problem properties, criminal and nuisance behavior, code enforcement issues and any other neighborhood issues, concerns, or new ideas for improvement in Dayton’s Bluff. If you can get me the addresses of problems ahead of time I can get them to the police and code enforcement. Then they can bring information about the problems to the meeting. Remember, it’s always on the 1st Thursday of the month. All Dayton’s Bluff residents are welcome to attend. If you need more information

Home Fix-up Available
Painting and exterior
home improvement is available free of charge to local seniors and
disabled residents in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood. Hearts
& Hammers, Twin Cities, Inc., a private nonprofit organization, is
looking for qualified homeowners to help. to Local Residents Hearts & Hammers is looking for additional applications from homeowners in the Dayton’s Bluff area for fall. To qualify, applicants must be: a senior citizen (over 55 years of age) or a person who is physically disabled; the homeowner and resident of a single-family home; planning to reside at the home for at least two years; unable to maintain the exterior of the home on their own; and meet certain maximum income guidelines (i.e. maximum monthly income of $2,030 for a one-resident household). Homes must require significant exterior painting. Rehab work may include surface preparation and painting of exterior wood or stucco, moderate carpentry repair of windows, trim, and porches, and weatherproofing and security improvements. providing numerous services and programs primarily to enrich the
diverse residents of the Dayton's
Bluff area. It is
one of the 19 councils
within the
Saint
Paul District Council System.
The Council
works to advocate and to promote recreational, housing, educational,
economic, and social opportunities that improve the quality of life
within the Dayton's Bluff area. Today, the Council programs and
services include Recycling, Arts and Culture Project, Neighborhood
Clean-Ups, Block Club and Crime Prevention, Community Participation on
Land Use and Community Issues, Buckthorn Removal, Good Neighbor Code
