This summer, Urban Oasis is partnering with Urban Roots and Dayton’s Bluff Community Councilto turn East 7th Street, a busy urban street in St. Paul, into an “Edible Streetscape of East Side Food Traditions.” Join us to celebrate the beautiful journey that food takes from seeds and soil to various ethnic cuisines on our fork!

What are some of your favorite recipes? Which ingredients do you often use in your own cooking? Where do you buy or eat food in your neighborhood? With community input, ten container gardens will be designed and placed at various points along East 7th Street between Maria Avenue and Margaret Street.

We want to hear from you! Please fill out our short online survey and help us create an Edible Streetscape that truly represents the food traditions we live and love here on the East Side.

On May 26, everyone is invited to help plant the first crops in the container gardens during Community Planting Day. You can also buy plants for your own garden at Urban Roots’ first annual plant sale, onsite starting at 4:30 pm.
