Why Should I Join a Block Club? Block Clubs are the most effective way to reduce crime and build relationships in the community. Block Clubs can have incredible success in reducing crime, getting neighbors acquainted with each other, accomplishing work on community projects, and even help children with their homework. Each Block Club can define their own mission and goals. Some Block Clubs want to stick with working on Neighborhood Watch and crime related issues. Others work solely on safety issues, while still others work on neighborhood improvements and community building. Neighbors who are organized and work together for positive change can best address neighborhood problems. When you are a member of a block club:
Studies prove knowing your neighbors = less crime Studies have found that Block Clubs and neighbors knowing each other are the most effective crime prevention strategies. Some people call their group a neighborhood watch, block club, or neighbors just getting together. A close-knit community has less crime.
