267 Maria Avenue
James & Joanne Rust
We purchased this well-maintained 1905 home
about a year ago, happy with how much house and yard we were able to
get for our dollar. Everything was ready to live in, but we wanted to
remodel our kitchen immediately. Except for electrical and plumbing
work done by contractors, we did all of the work by ourselves. We
absolutely love our kitchen now! As for the rest of the house, it is
large and very comfy and we enjoy it every day. We work out of our
home, and the Dayton’s Bluff location is convenient for our business
needs. We are very happy here! Presented by the Dayton’s Bluff

903 Mound Street
Julie Gugin & John Hall
I purchased this house in the 1980s,
planning to call it home for a long time. When John and I married in
2000, we stayed for the neighborhood’s charm, spectacular views and
proximity to Mounds Park. Besides rebuilding the front porch and
garage, we’ve re-sided the house and landscaped the yard, adding a new
driveway, patio, curving front walk and front landing. Inside, we
refinished hardwood floors, remodeled the bathroom, removed a wall
between the kitchen and dining room, turned a corner closet into a
walk-in pantry and installed new kitchen cabinets, countertops, and
appliances. Look also for the unique curved wall separating two of the
bedrooms. Presented by the Dayton’s Bluff Community Council

770 E. Sixth Street
Chuck Chapman & Amy Hanford
This Italianate-style Victorian is one of
the oldest houses in Dayton’s Bluff, and Amy has lived here since 1988.
After its purchase, the entire house was gutted and except for the
driveway, we did all our own renovation. Most recently, we remodeled
the dining room, including installing a marble floor. The carriage
house behind the main house was moved, piece by numbered piece, from
Rice and Marion. We hired a crane lift to move large wall panels and
other oversized pieces. Although remodeled inside and out, the carriage
house still has the original openings for a hayloft and the horse
stalls. Presented by the Dayton’s Bluff Community Council

757 E. Sixth Street
Kyle Fitzwater & Steven Rosnow
We purchased this classic Italianate
home—commonly known as the Koenig-Osgood house in honor of its first
two owners—in October1999. It features extraordinary woodwork, three
sets of arched pocket doors, 11-foot ceilings and fabulous views of the
downtown skyline. In the past four years, we’ve completed numerous
projects: a new kitchen, new garage, major landscaping, replica
Victorian iron fencing and exterior painting. Extensive interior
decorating includes refinishing original wide-plank flooring and
installing bookshelves, turning the front parlor into a charming
library. We love Dayton’s Bluff with its fantastic views, proximity to
downtown Saint Paul and beautiful historic homes. Presented by the
